On October 11th, the International Student Union of the School of Mechanical Engineering (MEISU) conducted an orientation session specifically designed for international freshmen who come to join the School of Mechanical Engineering.
All the fresh students participated in the session, indicating that international exchanges in our college are resuming and setting sail again.
Mr. James FAN, who is in charge of international students' affairs, host the session. Academic Affairs Teacher Honoria Hao also attended this meeting.
In the beginning, Honoria Hao distributed academic integrity learning materials to all students and led everyone to study. And then, she introduced the college and collected information about websites and official account commonly used in the school for newcomers.
After that, scholarship signing regulations was explained in detail by Mr. James FAN.
Finally, he brought safety education to the freshmen, and reminded them to pay attention to traffic safety and beware of financial fraud.
In the Q&A session, Mr. James FAN answered the most concerned questions raised by audience, and extend a warm welcome again.
Subsequently, Jacky one of the members of MEISU, introduced MEISU and gave an overall campus life preview.
MEISU was founded in 2018 with a vision to provide a platform for students of Mechanical Engineering of SJTU to exchange universal cultures and build a bridge between international students and Chinese students. MEISU has 3 departments which are Academic center, Culture center, and Communication center.
For the campus life preview part, the host shared the location of basic living services on campus such as cafeterias, libraries and sports facilities, and more interesting services are waiting for the freshmen to explore by themselves.
