On November 7, the 8th Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Osaka University Smart City Forum was held combining online and offline. Both universities engaged in in-depth discussions regarding the smart city development in Shanghai and Osaka, jointly envisioning the intelligent development blueprint for both cities. The forum was chaired by Professor Yanjun Dai from School of Mechanical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Professors Xiaoqiang Zhai, Zhimin Du, and Tao Ma from School of Mechanical Engineering, along with Professor Huibo Zhang from the School of Design at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professors Kii Yasushi, Fukuda Tomohiro, Yamaguchi Youhei, and Yoshizawa Nobuya from School of Engineering at Osaka University, presented eight academic reports on cutting-edge topics such as smart energy building systems and interconnected smart transportation data. They shared the latest research findings in fields like energy and transportation, explored future research trends and potential areas for collaboration, and offered their insights on the future development of smart cities.
Academic exchanges and cooperation between Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Osaka University began in the field of welding technology in 1979. Since 1995, the two universities have regularly held bilateral academic exchange seminars. This year’s forum serves as a sub-forum of the 26th Shanghai Jiao Tong University-Osaka University Academic Exchange Seminar, injecting new momentum into the development of friendly relations and strengthening substantial cooperation between the two universities.
